As the busy winter months draw to an end, we here at Icelantic
were fortunate to spend last week in Whistler, B.C. and were
reminded, yet again, of the beauty, excitement and purpose of
Skis went out and excited smiles returned to the Icelantic demo
tent set atop the Whistler gondola at the Telus World Ski and
For three glorious Spring days, B.C. locals were given the
opportunity to strap on the Shaman, the Pilgrim, the Nomad and
the Scout - rip em' through crud, ice, slush and even a little pow.
We were lucky enough to be there to receive their reactions...all
accompanied by smiles and a few good old Canadian,
'these things are a riot, ey?!'.
One skeptic, at the sight of his friend clicking into the Pilgrim,
proclaimed, 'Those aren't skis'.
After a few sentences of persuasion and a look and feel of the
Shaman, the skeptic clicked in and rode away.
More than a few runs later he returned, laughing hysterically!
He ended up buying the Shamans right out of our tent.
Icelantic was proud to be a sponsor the first annual World
Backcountry Freeride Jam, a three day festival celebrating skiing
and riding in its truest and most inspirational form --
experiencing the untracked cold smoke of uncontrolled terrain.
Several events and competitions took place - many which included the
use of Icelantic's AT Boards!
Thanks a million to ROI for hosting the event, and to all of you who,
though sometimes reluctantly, tried our short fat skis, and enjoyed
your time with the mountain on them!
Your enthusiasm and support are what keeps our fires burnin
and our brains churnin -
Until Next Time,
