As we enjoy the fall colors and the initial signs of winter across the higher elevation United States our European team is finding themselves a bit deeper in it. Winter is already going off in the Alps!
Opening weekend at Kaunertal brought a huge dump of over 60 cm. of snow, so much in fact that the Kaunertal Glacier had to be closed for a day so they brought the festivities downhill to the valley. The Blue Tomato had a mini skate ramp & chill out lounge with a BBQ and Monster DJ. Skiers and snowboarders celebrated the beginning of the season together in style.
Day two the glacier opened allowing eager shredders to bask in the 70 fresh cm. of snow that had fallen. Great conditions for the Blue Tomato Testival with 70 international brands out of the Freeski and Snowboard scene demoing their newest gear for free to the public. The event included live music and fun side events, from the looks of the video on Snowpark-Kauternal's website everyone had a blast.
