Old man winter has finally peaked his head in the mountains of Colorado. Loveland Ski Area has received upward of a foot of snow in the past week and snow machines are firing. Check out these photos taken by Dustin Schaefer.

A dismal snow year has it's up sides. The mountain biking has been all time! Living in Salt Lake City is all about the access. It may be the proximity to the Wasatch range that makes the "Door to Door" missions so appealing. Icelantic's Amy David tells us about her first powder days of the season on the new Maiden 111. "November is the time of year we return to winter. Although it happens every year, each time feels like a new “Maiden voyage” into the ski season. The anticipation for the first skiable snowfall builds, and the first round of powder turns transmits a deep energy throughout the ski community. My first turns of the season commenced on the summit of Galena Pass adjacent to Sun Valley, Idaho."

Sad to lose a fellow skier and cherished friend. Adam Roberts was a bright light and a rich soul, we will always remember him and his immense spirit and passion for life, love, skiing, and nature. The Icelantic family would like to pay tribute to our fallen friend.

When I first clicked into the Pioneer 109 I felt as though Icelantic discovered the perfect ski that met the core demands of an everyday big mountain skier. Not only is the ski incredibly nimble in the skin track but it also breaks trail more efficiently than any other ski I’ve ever been on. On a more personal note, the ski helped redefine the style in which I execute the down-hill decent as well.

Cody Potter started out as an intern here at Icelantic Skis and is now quickly moving his way up the ranks of all the other athletes on our team. He's been having one hell of a season winning just about every rail contest he enters not to mention making it out to the World University Games in Granada, Spain. If you haven't heard of Cody keep your eyes and ears peeled as we guarantee you'll be seeing a lot of him in the future. Sheregesh, Russia... After two weeks of straight travel we arrive in Sheregesh, Russia where it has snowed four feet over the past week. By morning, an additional six inches of snow had fallen and the sunrise marked my twenty-fifth birthday. A small Asian man in a taxi van picked us up at our “hotel”. His gold covered teeth were complimented by his high-energy personality. He screams “America!!” at the top of his lungs a dozen times as we pack our nine pairs of skis into the small vehicle. The single lane road leading to the mountain is grid locked...
