Melissa Makepeace
Mel is a ski guide, business owner, and avalanche education instructor based in Fernie BC. Since 2008, she has made skiing her career. From her beginnings as a ski patroller she has since worked all over the world guiding ski touring, cat-skiing, and heli-skiing. As a member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, Mel loves the variety in her work, from ascending 10,000 human-powered feet in a day, to descending 50,000 heli-accessed feet in a day. Mel now owns Mountain Addicts - Guiding and Instruction, a perfect outlet for her desire to get everyone out in the mountains safely, and she is particularly passionate about encouraging women to get out there. “I love facilitating a journey to confidence and independence in mountain travel in women.”
