Mark Morris is a 5th generation Coloradan that truly fell in love with freeskiing on a heli-trip in Alaska, just after his 13th birthday. Coincidentally, he found a passion for acoustic music at the same time, and has been motived to follow both of these passions his whole life.
When I first clicked into the Pioneer 109 I felt as though Icelantic discovered the perfect ski that met the core demands of an everyday big mountain skier. Not only is the ski incredibly nimble in the skin track but it also breaks trail more efficiently than any other ski I’ve ever been on. On a more personal note, the ski helped redefine the style in which I execute the down-hill decent as well.

After some serious time at Silverton Mountain with the Bent Gate Crew we headed over to Telluride to see some friends and ride the coat tails of our athletes Julian Carr and Whit Boucher as they were on their way to ski with Telluride Helitrax for an article in The Ski Journal.
We arrived to more spring conditions and learned that we had an opportunity the to get a heli drop first thing in the morning to the top of the iconic Lightning Bolt Couloir which sits across the valley from Telluride Resort...
