Start with our Ski Size Chart — it breaks it down by height, weight, and skiing style. Quick rule of thumb: all-mountain skiers typically size down a bit for control, freeride and powder skiers size up for float. Your weight and how you ski matter as much as your height.

For all-mountain, most people land somewhere between chin and nose height. For powder and freeride, sizing up 5 to 10cm gives you more float and stability at speed. If you're genuinely torn between two lengths, tell us your weight and where you ski most and we'll give you a straight answer.

Waist width is about what kind of snow you're skiing:

• Under 88mm — groomers, hardpack, carving
• 88 to 98mm — versatile all-mountain
• 98 to 110mm — all-mountain into soft snow and occasional powder
• 110mm and up — powder and deep snow, full send

Our all-mountain lineup (Torrent, Tempest) runs 88 to 100mm. Freeride (Nomad, Maiden) is 94 to 112mm. Backcountry (Natural, Pioneer) is built lean for uphill efficiency.

Yes, sizing is consistent across the lineup. Use the Ski Size Chart as your baseline and factor in your weight and terrain. If you're on the heavier or more aggressive end, sizing up within a model's range is usually the right call.

Every single ski is designed and built in Golden, Colorado. Has been for over 20 years. This isn't marketing language for offshore production — our team physically builds each pair in our Colorado facility, which is exactly why we can stand behind them with a 3-year warranty.

It means our team builds each ski by hand, from laying up the core materials to pressing and quality-checking every pair. There's no automated production line. That process lets us use better materials and tighter tolerances than mass-market brands, and it's the reason we can back every pair with three years of coverage.

Vertically laminated Aspen. It's lightweight, lively, and great at absorbing vibration. Gives our skis a natural, responsive feel underfoot. Some models layer in carbon stringers for added stiffness and snap. Check the Construction Page for specifics on each model.

Rocker is the upward curve at the tip and/or tail of the ski when it's laid flat. More rocker means easier turn entry and better float in powder. Less rocker (more camber) means sharper edge hold on groomed snow. Most Icelantic skis use a hybrid profile — rocker at the tip and tail, camber underfoot — so you get the benefits of both without giving anything up.

Camber is the arch in the middle of the ski when unweighted. It loads energy and gives you grip on hardpack. Rocker is the tip and/or tail curving upward, which helps the ski float in powder and release into turns. A hybrid profile combines both and is what most of our skis use.

Yes. B Corp certification isn't self-reported — it's third-party verified by B Lab against rigorous standards covering how we treat employees, our environmental footprint, community impact, and governance. We're one of the only ski brands to hold it. You can verify it at bcorporation.net.

Honestly, a few things that are rare in this industry: every ski is handmade in Colorado, not a factory overseas. We're B-Corp certified. Every topsheet is original artwork from an independent artist. We've been an independent brand for over 20 years. And we back every ski with a 3-year warranty — the most comprehensive in the business.

Manufacturing defects — things like delamination, core cracks, and structural failures that happen because of how the ski was built, not because of what you hit. It doesn't cover base gouges, edge damage, topsheet scratches, or impact damage from rocks, rails, or rails you weren't supposed to hit. Full details and claim submission are on our Warranty Page.

Go to our Warranty Page, fill out the form, and include your proof of purchase and photos of the damage. During peak season (November through January) processing takes up to four weeks.

Delamination is a manufacturing defect, so yes — covered, as long as it's within three years of purchase and wasn't caused by an impact. Submit a claim through our Warranty Page with photos and we'll take a look.

Yes. The 3-year warranty covers any pair bought from an authorized Icelantic dealer. You'll need your receipt or proof of purchase.

Most brands do one year. A few do two. We do three. That's not a coincidence — it reflects what we think about the quality of our construction.

Same freeride DNA, different build. The Nomad is designed for male-identifying skiers — larger boot sizes, stiffer flex. The Maiden is women's-specific — lighter swing weight, slightly softer flex, geometry tuned for women's boot sizes (typically 22.5 to 27.0). If you're skiing in women's boots, the Maiden is built for you. If you're in men's boots (typically 26.0 and up), the Nomad.

Freeride (Nomad, Maiden) is built for life off the groomed — powder days, off-piste terrain, variable snow. Wider waists (94 to 112mm), more rocker, more float. All-mountain (Torrent, Tempest) does everything well — groomers, crud, the occasional powder day. Narrower waists (88 to 100mm), balanced profile, more versatile edge

Look for the BC mark on the ski next to the serial number — that's our recommended Boot Center mounting point. The CC mark is the Core Center, for center mounts (mostly park). Some freeride models have a PC mark (Progressive Center) for a more balanced freeride feel front to back. Mount with a 3.5mm x 9.5mm drill bit. Questions? info@icelanticskis.com.

No. Bindings ship separately — take everything to your local shop for mounting. Bring your boots.

Every ski ships with a 1 degree edge bevel, 1 degree base bevel, and a universal wax.

Pick a binding with a brake width that clears your ski's waist. If you're on the Nomad 106, you want brakes at 110mm. DIN range matters too — heavier, more advanced skiers with smaller feet run higher DIN settings. When in doubt, have your local shop help you spec it out.
